NT Veteran Golfers Association (NTVGA)

The NTVGA was formed in 1991 and has four member clubs; Alice Springs, Darwin, Palmerston – Humpty Doo, and Katherine. The NTVGA is affiliated with the Australian Veteran Golfers Union (AVGU) and along with other states and territories provides a delegate to the Executive of the AVGU. There are around 250 financial members of the NTVGA.

Darwin Golf Club

Darwin Golf Club is situated in the Northern Suburbs of Darwin in close proximity to Darwin Airport. It is a tropical 18 hole Par 72 championship course designed by Peter Thompson and Michael Wolveridge. Palmerston Golf & Country Club

Situated in Palmerston, approximately 20 Km from Darwin CBD, this 18 hole Par 71 course is set in tropical surrounds framed by tall trees and waterways. The Palmerston Golf Club proudly hosts the annual NT PGA Championships. The club has a bistro, TAB facility, gaming room and an outdoor dining area. The Darwin Sailing Club Inc.

Welcome Reception

Kick off the championship with fellow participants on the lawns of the Mindil Beach Casino Resort on Monday evening, overlooking Darwin Harbour.

Social Golf at Humpty Doo

Enjoy 9 holes of social golf at the Humpty Doo Golf Course on Wednesday (optional). The Humpty Doo & Rural Area Golf Club is located just a short 30-minute drive down the track from Darwin – you will need your own transport to get there. The wide flat fairways make easy walking, or you may prefer to ride in a motorised cart. Mini Golf Championship

Enjoy a fun and competitive side event for all skill levels at the Palmerston Golf & Country Club on Wednesday evening (optional). Your entry fee of $30 per person includes mini golf entry and finger food. Numbers are limited but you can secure priority by expressing your interest when completing your entry for the AVGU Championship.  Payment for the event will be taken at Registration on Sunday 31 August.

Presentation Dinner

Celebrate the tournament’s conclusion with a grand dinner and award ceremony under the stars at the iconic Darwin Sailing Club on Friday evening.

Half Day City Tour – Monday

End the adventure with a visit to Fogg Dam’s vibrant wetlands, teeming with birdlife and wildlife, for a true Northern Territory experience!

Swim, Lunch and Nature – Thursday

Discover the beauty of Berry Springs Nature Park with a refreshing swim in crystal-clear waters, and stroll through the monsoonal forests, followed by a relaxing lunch at Berry Springs Tavern. See the croc and other iconic Territory wildlife at the pub, continuing onto Howard Springs to explore its WWII history and feed the local Barramundi, blending natural beauty with a touch of history in the Top End!
